BBC Radio 2 presents a new series of special programmes exploring the magical influence of the record producer.
Broadcaster Richard Allinson & Record Producer Steve Levine have exclusive access to the recording studios and writing rooms of some of the world's most successful record producers. In this series we meet Arif Mardin, Trevor Horn, Nile Rodgers, Hugh Padgham, Bob Clearmountain & Tony Visconti. They are much more than names on an album sleeve. They are artists in their own right, who have collaborated with some of the greatest recording stars of all time to craft iconic recordings. Their creative vision has both shaped popular music history and mapped out the musical landscape for generations to come.
Each show in the series features an hour in the company of these maverick craftsmen who, in the company of both a renowned broadcaster and respected producer talk both candidly and openly about the music they've created. They reveal secrets behind the recording of some of the world's most recognisable songs.
